Neville and Koppelman easily negotiated the fistfuls of sharp, pointed arpeggios and the delicate twitterings, capturing the full emotional range.
La Jolla Light
Ruth Neville brought great emotional and musical authority to the performance…a deft, sensitive chamber music player whose idiomatic playing is remarkable for color and control.
-The Greenville News
[Koppelman’s] sophisticated and effectively utilized interactive computer programs cause electronic sounds to emerge from finely crafted piano figures. The results are always captivating and musically intriguing…Highly recommended.

duo runedako is to be commended for their efforts to explore alternative directions in multiple-keyboard music. The energy of Koppelman and Neville’s performances and their enthusiasm over the possibilities for the future of keyboard music are palpable.
-Clavier
There is no other keyboard duet on earth that fills the musical imperative of duo runedako. Ruth Neville and Daniel Koppelman are extraordinary pianists and keyboard artists that effortlessly span a varied repertoire from classical to the ultramodern…Very few performing artists are comfortable in this brave new world or technology-enhanced performance but Ruth and Dan fluently fill this niche with an artistic sensibility rivaled by none.

I want to thank you for presenting such a wonderful concert on our new music concert series, Music at the Forefront, February 27, 2006 in Bryan Recital hall. Everything, from the choice of the literature to your performance was outstanding. Students and faculty alike were moved and impressed with the evening…It is invaluable that you not only present a wonderful concert but are also so nurturing to young composers.

"Culture's ongoing project of evolving faster, higher, and more precise, and more sensitive, creative, and artistic, as well as more open, searching, and experimental is surely valuable, and duo runedako excel tremendously in these and all the other capacities you'd hope to find in the best of the best of the new musician. But these qualities are mundane in comparison to the sheer joy of working with them. The unique genius of Ruth and Dan takes shape when you realize that they are individuals who you want in your community of creative colleagues. I'm grateful for their unwavering dedication to the composer (and audience) of the present."

duo runedako is an outstanding piano four-hands ensemble, who not only play brilliantly, but also have an extraordinary gift for imaginative programming. Their appearance in the final concert of our 2005 Winter Classics Concert Series featured a winning mix of the traditional and the intricately complex contemporary piano repertoire all played with great technical artistry and introduced with genial comments by the husband-wife duo of Ruth Neville and Daniel Koppelman. We will most certainly invite them back! It was a wonderful concert!

It was an honor to have such gifted performers as yourselves take part in the Festival. Your desire to expand the repertoire and technique of keyboard performance certainly offers a needed innovation in duo performance. In addition, I was most impressed by your easy grace and generous regard for all who approached you including performers, faculty, students, audience members and myself. It was a pleasure to work with you both.

I have also been privileged to hear duo runedako in full-length formal recitals, and have always come away inspired and energized. Their programs are characterized by great variety and contrast—works for two pianos, piano four hands, and solo pieces. Many of these include live electronics, both interactive and preprogrammed. This wizardry is always a means to a musical end, never a mere technical display. Their commitment to the idiom and expressive core of each work is total. They do this because they love the music. It is obvious.

Excellent vitality, energy, and technical precision…a superb team - really superb. What a wonderful sense of drama and color throughout. You could tell that we were all spellbound by your performance. No one wanted to break the mood!

Needless to say, your performance for us was extremely well received. Even thought we are committed to providing programming that represents the full spectrum of musical endeavors, I admit to a bit of concern as regards your unique programming and presentation. However, my personal tastes were expanded with the artistry shown in each composition. Your performance was exceptional! The feedback that I have heard produced two distinct reactions. The first being that ears and minds were opened to contemporary, and in some cases, revolutionary creativity as regards electronic music…The second reaction was that your verbal program notations helped listeners to understand the intentions of the composer, especially as evidenced in the Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues by Frederic Rzewski. Once again, many thanks for your concert at Nardin Park, and I wish you continued success as you reach others with your polished performances.

Their [duo runedako] performance
of the standard piano repertoire is strong as well as sensitive.
Their performance of new music, including electronic forms (which Daniel
Koppelman composes) is exciting as well as approachable for the
audience. They have performed for the Jewish Community
Music Series in Greenville, SC two years ago and will be performing again
for us in our 2006-2007 series. This is by informal popular demand
by audience members and my committee.
